The best Polynesian artisans have combined their
talents to bring alive traditional Polynesian crafts: woodcarving,
bamboo and pandanus weaving, tapa cloth, mother of pearl engraving,
providing an authentic Polynesian style to this deluxe resort
hotel.
Our resort has 64 individual bungalows and 2
lounge bungalows connecting to 4 individual bungalows for families
: 14 beach bungalows, 50 over water bungalows. All the bungalows
are junior suite size with air conditioning. They all feature
a large sun terrace with exterior shower, living room, bedroom
and beautiful bathroom with bath and dressing area decorated with
live vanilla plants.

Polynesian handicrafts are known for their
extreme sophistication. Polynesian craftsman (or "mama")
creates hats, baskets and mats with pandanus and coconut tree
leaves. All items showcasing their skills and dexterity.
InterContinental Resorts lets you discover
the cultural treasures of French Polynesia...We organize various
demonstrations focused on the local handicraft such as pareu
dyeing demonstration, tifaifai quilt making demonstration, flower
and shell lei making demonstration and basket weaving demonstration.
Pareo or Pareu is very important in daily
polynesian life, as much for men as for women who can tie
this kind of sarong in a thousand and one ways.
Monoi oil has an important role in the Polynesian
life, during traditional rituals, for its medical properties
or for body and hair beauty treatment. In order to avoid mosquitoes
the InterContinental Resorts advise you to cover yourself
with monoi oil.
Tifaifai: hand sewn bedspreads displaying
mostly vegetal patters. The tifaifai is a traditional wedding

Resort Bora Bora has 64 luxury, junior suite sized, bungalows either
built on stilts over the turquoise lagoon or lagoonside on the soft
white sand beach. They measure a spacious 600 sq ft (55/57 sq m)
including their decks.
 The
bungalows have roofs of pandanus thatch as did the traditional
Polynesian homes called fare.
Whichever your choice of location, you'll find
a decor style that pay homage to the natural. Polynesian way of
life. You'll feel very much in Bora Bora surrounded by coconut
palm woods, woven palms fronds and even real vanilla vines decorating
your bathroom.
Beach Jr. Suite Bungalow
The choice for confirmed land-lubbers, 14 magnificent bungalows
in the shade of the palms on the beach with a generous 592 sq
ft (55sq m) including the terrace. Even though these are not over
the lagoon, the water is only a few steps away and they are close
to the resort facilities.
The interior layout includes bedroom, separate
lounge area and large bathroom. They all have king size beds and
convertible sofa beds for up to 3 adults or 2 adults and a child.
 Overwater
Lagoon Jr. Suite Bungalow
There are 24 of these overwater bungalows built over the clear
Bora Bora lagoon waters, a little closer to the resort buildings
with views back over the beach and the island's lush interior.
They are a roomy 613 sq ft (57sq m) junior suite size, including
the split-level terrace and the sundeck from which you step into
the warm lagoon with its white sand bottom. You can even enjoy
a private fresh outside shower when you drag yourself away from
the lagoon after your swim or snorkeling expedition.
The interior Overwater bungalow layout includes
bedroom, separate lounge area and large bathroom. They all have
king size beds and convertible sofa beds for up to 3 adults or
2 adults and a child.
Overwater Horizon Jr. Suite Bungalow
These 26 Overwater bungalows are situated in absolute peace, in
the furthest out from the Bora Bora resort in the turquoise waters
of the lagoon, with just the reef, little island (motu) and the
the open ocean beyond for their horizon. They are spacious 613sq
ft (55 sq m) junior suite size including the terrace and the sundeck
from which you can glide straight into the lagoon and enjoy a
fresh outside shower when you return.
The Overwater bungalow interior layout includes
a bedroom, a separate lounge area and a large bathroom. They all
have king size beds and convertible sofa beds for up to 3 adults
or 2 adults and a child.
