Since it's opening in May 2006, the five-star InterContinental
Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is French Polynesia’s
first hotel to feature only overwater accommodations, setting
a new benchmark in elegance and service.
The resort called for
revolutionary solutions in both environmental protection and comfort.
The sea water air-conditioning system is unique in french polynesia
and eliminates pollutants effects. This deep sea water is also
used in the Thalasso-Spa, the first one to be built in the southern
hemisphere. This desalinated, extraordinarily pure deep sea water,
containing an excellent complement of nutritional of mineral salts
will be bottled under the label "Vai Moana" right at
the Spa.
The architects and interior designers, in cooperation
with the InterContinental Hotels Group have combined Polynesian
tradition and contemporary style, making this resort hotel unique
beyond compare
Located on Motu Piti Aau ("Two hearts"
in Tahitian), 30 minutes by boat from the airport,
and 15 minutes from town.

Cultural Activities
Polynesian handicrafts are known for their
extreme sophistication. Polynesian craftsman (or "mama")
creates hats, baskets and mats with pandanus and coconut tree
leaves. All items showcasing their skills and dexterity.
 InterContinental
Resorts lets you discover the cultural treasures of French Polynesia...We
organize various demonstrations focused on the local handicraft
such as pareu dyeing demonstration, tifaifai quilt making demonstration,
flower and shell lei making demonstration and basket weaving
demonstration.
Pareo or Pareu is very important in daily
polynesian life, as much for men as for women who can tie
this kind of sarong in a thousand and one ways.
Monoi oil has an important role in the Polynesian
life, during traditional rituals, for its medical properties
or for body and hair beauty treatment. In order to avoid mosquitoes
the InterContinental Resorts advise you to cover yourself
with monoi oil.
Tifaifai: hand sewn bedspreads displaying
mostly vegetal patters. The tifaifai is a traditional wedding
present.

This indoor/outdoor restaurant opens onto the patio, and features
a landscaped terrace that steps down to the beach. French, Polynesian,
and international specialties are served.
Vini Vini Restaurant
This terrace restaurant sits on the beach near the pool. Lunch
is served daily.
Vini Vini Bar
Vini Vini overlooks the beach and sand-bottom pool. Light snacks
and drinks are served throughout the day.

Breakfast
An Outrigger canoe can serve breakfast
to all Overwater Villa guests. It is a romantic way to start the
day.
Room service
In-room dining is available. Picnics on the Motu (islet) can also
be arranged, weather permitting.

including 14 on the beach and 50 directly over the lagoon. Rooms
are decorated in Polynesian style with woodcarvings, weaving,
engraved mother-of-pearl artwork, and tropical plants.

One room with a King size bed, one room with 2 twin beds and one
extra person can be accommodated in the living room. There is
also a kitchenette area. They are located near the spa area in
the middle of the motu. Maximum Occupancy: 5 adults.

Underwater Wedding Ceremony

It is now possible to get an underwater ceremony with special
dive equipment without a tank; The duration of the activity
is 2 hours (including 45 minutes dive).
