The Ritz Kids

The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino offers a Ritz Kids program designed to make your child's vacation as memorable as yours. This supervised program is available to our guests ages 5 to 12, and offers a wide variety of activities. Our caring counselors are certified in infant, child and adult CPR, basic first aid and water safety to ensure fun and safety of all. The program offers creative and educational entertainment, arts and crafts, beach games and nature tours.

Casino

Now open 24 hours, the vibrant Casino is the first within The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, and has reinvented the Casino experience for the luxury traveler. The room's decor reflects the elegance of a bygone era, and offers the service standards guests have come to expect from The Ritz-Carlton. With this, a new level of quality excellence has been established in the Caribbean's gaming and entertainment industry.

The Casino's décor reflects a return to the elegance and romance of the 1940's, with its tropical fabrics and patterns, floor-to-ceiling palm trees and marble staircase. Gold accented ceiling tiles and glass fixtures are complemented by stone columns and wrought-iron chandeliers. The architectural firm of Hirsch Bedner was responsible for the design of The Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino.

Golf

Bahia Beach Plantation (18-hole course)
This is the nearest golf course from San Juan that offers daily public play. Bahía Beach is operated as a daily fee golf course with low greens fees. The course literally was carved out of a jungle and features 75 acres of artificial lakes, three beachfront holes, two miles of beach, and dramatic views of El Yunque Rain Forest from every hole. Bahía Beach is considered one of the most challenging and beautiful golf courses on the island. Par is said to be 72 strokes and two rolls of film...so bring your camera as well as your best game. Located in Río Grande, 16 miles east and 30 minutes from the Hotel, play time is Monday through Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm. Please contact The Concierge for tee time reservations.

Dorado del Mar Golf Club (18-hole course)
Located in a residential/resort community the 18-hole golf course is a Chi Chi Rodríguez signature layout, which opened July 1998. Well-manicured narrow fairways and beautifully contoured greens distinguish this course. Water on 12 holes, palm tree-lined fairways and tropical trade winds challenge even the best players. Located in Dorado, 45 minutes from the Hotel, play time is Monday through Sunday from 6 am to 6 PM Same day reservation is requested for tee time.

Hyatt Dorado Beach Golf Club (18-hole courses)
Offering an a North, South, East and West course to select from, they are located in Dorado, 45 minutes from the Hotel, play time is Monday through Sunday from 7 am to 5:30 PM Tee time reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.

Palmas del Mar Country Club (two 18-hole courses)
Palmas del Mar, a self-contained residential resort community with beautiful residential areas, is in Humacao, southeast of San Juan. It features the Palm Course, a Gary Player-design layout that boasts heavy tropical roughs, lagoons and devilish sand traps, which add to the pressure of its narrow fairways. The newer Flamboyán Course, designed by Rees Jones, was ranked No. 1 in Puerto Rico and No. 5 in the Caribbean by Barron's magazine. The Flamboyán winds its way from the Club House around a 20-acre freshwater lake, across Candelero River, and down to the Caribbean Sea. Westin Rio Mar Golf Club – Ocean & River Course (18-hole course)
This beautiful golf location opened in mid-1996. It boasts the Ocean Course, a George and Tom Fazio design that features an oceanfront par-3 into the wind, which often requires a driver off the tee. The River Course , is a Greg Norman design situated along Mameyes River. It is best known for its natural beauty and exotic wildlife. Don't forget to bring your camera and pose with the huge (vegetarian) iguanas. Both are located in Río Grande, 45 minutes from the Hotel, play time is Monday - Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Friday - Sunday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tee time reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
