Golf nearby

Conveniently located just 30 minutes from Waikiki and 15 minutes from downtown Honolulu and central Oahu, Ko'olau Golf Club is a destination like no other. The facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned architects Dick Nugent and Jack Tuthill; a spacious 125,000 clubhouse featuring a variety of luxurious, yet comfortable amenities; and a 5-acre grass practice facility.

Named one of the top three golf clubs in Hawaii by Golf Digest (1999) and considered the toughest golf course in the nation, Ko''olau was carved out of a magnificent rain forest on the windward side of the 2,000 foot Ko''olau mountain range. Nestled directly below the popular Fall Lookout with breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls, the course encompasses three distinct climate zones and features dramatic vistas of the windward sides of the island and the Pacific Ocean; extreme elevation changes; winding ravines; and an abundance of mango trees and other lush native vegetation.

Complimented by superior banquet facilities and a friendly, attentive staff, Ko''olau Golf Club is the ultimate location for corporate meetings, weddings, golf outings and other special occasions.

A perfect example is the use of the Noni plant, which is grown locally in Tahiti and is used for several body treatments at the Waikiki spa in Noni tea. This two-story oceanfront spa in Waikiki offers a luxurious array of specialty hotel services in 19 treatment rooms, including dry sauna, steam showers, relaxation room and fitness center.

Our Waikiki spa is the perfect launching point from which to explore the playground of Waikiki, and the variety of rich natural beauty and historical sites of Oahu.

Body Treatments
Discover experiences that cultivate a spirit of healing and well-being for both the mind and body with one or more of our specialty treatments.

  • Herbal Wrap: Wrapped in muslin sheets that are soaked with special herbs, your body will be relaxed and refreshed.
  • Seaweed (limu): A warm, seaweed masque covers your entire body, helping to detoxify, stimulate circulation and re-energize your body.
  • Polynesian Bodyscrub: Hawaiian salt and 'alae are uniquely blended with kukui nut oil to exfoliate dull surface skin. This is followed by an application of luxurious Polynesian body lotion.
  • Ná Hóola Body Polish: A fine grain, gentle body cleansing scrub using macadamia nut oil and a synergistic blend (specifically made for our Spa) of noni, aloe vera and other essential oil extracts.
  • Mud: Rich with minerals, this refined mud masque is applied to your body to deep cleanse, balance and tone.
  • Ti Leaf: In conjunction with aloe, Ti leaves draw out heat from a day in the sun and leave your skin soothed and nourished. Then you will relax further with a scalp and foot massage.

Massages
You deserve to relax and our massage therapists will see to that. Choose from a number of massages to soothe aching muscles and rejuvenate your senses.

  • Aromatherapy: Aromatic essential oils have been used for centuries. Experience the healing effects of aromatherapy and aromatic essential oils with a massage, which stimulates pressure points and promotes blood circulation by using both light and strong massage techniques.
  • Couples Massage: The massage of your choice, given in the privacy and comfort of the Couples Room.
  • Hydro Massage: Start with either a seaweed or sea salt jet bath, followed with strong jets of water to target specific areas of your body, which may require additional pampering.
  • La Stone Massage: The use of hot and cold stones, blended with Swedish strokes, will assist the body in self-healing.
  • Lomi Lomi: A traditional form of Hawaiian massage, lomi lomi means "the art of love and healing through the hands and heart." This method combines various kneading and stroking techniques to soothe pain, relax sore or stiff muscles, and improve overall blood circulation.
  • Massage/Jet Bath Package: Any 50 minute massage with one of the following jet Baths:
    · Aromatherapy Thalasso Jet Bath: Aromatic essential oils are added to make the bath relaxing and invigorating.
    · Sea Salt Thalasso Jet Bath: The high mineral content of sea salt aids in increasing metabolism and nourishes the skin. Hawaiians also believe that salt has a multitude of healing as well as cleansing properties.
  • Reflexology: This deeply relaxing massage relieves tension, increases blood circulation and opens energy pathways by stimulating pressure points.
  • Reiki: A simple hands-on or no-touch healing art which uses the universal life force energy to promote balance, healing and consciousness.
  • Seaweed Thalasso Jet Bath: The minerals in seaweed are believed to cleanse and tone the skin and promote relaxation.
  • Shiatsu: A Japanese technique, influenced by both Chinese and Western medicines. Specific acupoints (tsubo) are stimulated to harmonize the energy flow in the body. This non-oil massage promotes deep relaxation yet leaves you feeling invigorated.
  • Stone Hand and Foot Treatment: This treatment addresses the most neglected parts of our body. Let the subtle aromas and the warmth of the stones relax you.
  • Swedish: This European therapeutic massage uses rhythmical strokes, kneading and small circular motions. This technique benefits circulation and muscle tone while inducing a feeling of comfort and well-being.
