all over the world come here to study this rich ecosystem of rivers,
marshland, mangroves and dry forest, where crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas
and thousands of birds make their home.
Rincón de la
Vieja Volcano National Park
During this nature hike you will find bubbling mud, steaming sulphur
and fumaroles while you explore the 3 kilometres (2 miles) of trails
through the forest.
Witch's
Rock canopy tour
Harness up - and swing through the trees, on a series of zip lines suspended
between the tall trees of our tropical forest. Enjoy an incredible view
of the Gulf of Papagayo.
Corobici river float
This rafting trip upon calm waters offers the perfect means to view
the beautiful scenery of this natural paradise. You will see exotic
flora, and wildlife such as white egrets, tiger herons, motmots, howler
monkeys, ospreys, iguanas and other lizards. Led by a certified river
guide.
Canyon
tour at Guachipelin
Appreciate the wonders of nature from the heart of a 600,000 year old
canyon and from the top of ancestral trees. You will canopy and rappel,
engage in natural and via ferrata wall-climbing and swing through the
Blanco River Canyon like Tarzan through the jungle. A unique experience
with state-of-the-art safety equipment. After a traditional Costa Rican
lunch you will go on horseback to the lookout point for amazing views
of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and La Chorrera Waterfall where you
can go for a refreshing dip in the cool waters.
Sky
walk in the rainforest
During this walk of approximately two and a half hours through the rainforest,
you will discover the magic of this wonderful place, home of one of
the most diverse ecosystems in the world. You will cross over suspension
bridges, giving you a close, personal view of ancestral trees.
Horseback riding at
El Aromal
Hacienda Aromal is part of a biological link which neighbours the Horizontes
Biological Station and the Santa Rosa National Park areas, rich in flora
and fauna. You will observe a wide variety of wildlife in its natural
habitat as you ride through Aromal, as well as experience breathtaking
views. The tour begins at the sabaneros cattle herding station where
visitors will wear the typical hats and kerchiefs of the Pampas of the
past.
The
natural hot springs at Borinquen
These beautiful hot springs are set in the midst of an evergreen forest
on the side of the Rincon de la Vieja volcano. Cover yourself with silky
soft volcanic mud, rich in minerals and deeply cleansing - and relax.
Discover Nicaragua
Explore the colonial charm of Granada, and experience Central American
culture. You will visit the San Francisco Convent, which holds a large
collection of stone sculptures dating back to pre-Hispanic times. Explore
the active Masaya volcano, where you can stand right at the edge of
the immense crater. Before driving back to Costa Rica, you will stop
at the picturesque Indian Market at Masaya, where you can shop for unique
arts and crafts, souvenirs and leather goods.
Goombay
Catamaran
Explore the shoreline on a luxury 14-metre (47-foot) catamaran. Board
the boat right from our beach and embark on an adventure around the
Gulf of Papagayo. This is a great chance to see ocean wildlife and take
in the fresh air.
Guaitil pottery and
Diria coffee plantation
Experience the rural community of Guaitil, where the Chorotega Indians'
tradition of pottery-making is preserved. Shop for a piece of your own
pottery before travelling on to the Diria coffee plantation at Matambu.
