All U.S. Citizens and Canadian nationals, including infants, must

The currency of Brazil is the real (R$). The real comes in coin

R$1, R$5, R$10, R$50, R$100.
Major Credit
Cards are widely accepted. ATMs (MasterCard Cirrus and VISA Plus)
are available.
Time Zone:
Brazil covers four time zones. The time in most of Brazil visited
by foreign tourists is three hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-3).
This is true of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasiiía,
Bahia, Minas Gerais etc.

(60 cycles) but many of the larger hotels also offer 220 volts.
Transformers to boost the current from 110 volts to 220 volts are
available in most hotels.

Rio
de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro is
famous for its spectacular natural setting, its Carnival celebrations,
samba and other music, hotel-lined tourist beaches, such as Copacabana
and Ipanema, paved with decorated black and cream swirl pattern
mosaics. Some of the most famous local landmarks in addition to
the beaches include the giant statue of Jesus, known as Christ
the Redeemer ('Cristo Redentor') atop Corcovado mountain; Sugarloaf
mountain with its cable car; the Sambódromo, a giant permanent
parade stand used during Carnival; and Maracanã stadium,

Salvador da
Bahia
Salvador
is a city on the northeast coast of Brazil and the capital of
the northeastern Brazilian state of Bahia. Salvador is the third
most populous Brazilian city, after São Paulo and Rio de
Janeiro, and it is the most populous city in Northeastern Brazil,
being a cultural reference in Brazil for its cuisine, music and
architecture.
Its metropolitan
area is the wealthiest in the northeastern region. 80% of the
population of Salvador is of Black African origin, and African
influence in all cultural aspects of the city turns it into the
epicenter of "Negro culture" in Brazil.
The historical
center of the Salvador, frequently called the Pelourinho, is extremely
rich in historical monuments dating from the 17th through the
19th centuries and has was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

do Sauipe is located 48 miles (1 hour by motorcoach) from the
Salvador International Airport (SSA), and Salvador. The resorts
