Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica offers an array of activities, and entertainment.

• The Fitness Center offers 202 square metres (2,178 square feet) of state-of-the-art fitness facilities. Personal trainers and a broad range of fitness classes, including yoga and mat Pilates, are available. Facilities include separate lockers for men and women, an exercise room, cardiovascular machines and free weights, and can be used by guests 12 years of age and older. Steam rooms and hot and cold plunge pools are located in the locker rooms and are available to guests 16 years of age and older.
• Pool: Relax with a cold drink on the magnificent pool deck. Lush landscaping surrounds three swimming pools, a 1,000-square-metre (10,765-square-foot) freshwater main pool and two smaller pools, one on either side. The main pool is located in the centre of the Resort. The smaller pools overlook two different beaches, Blanca Bay (the activities beach) and Playa Virador (the quiet beach). Enjoy an aquatic workout, or relax in the whirlpool.
• Children's Pool: Children will enjoy the shallow, beach-style entrance of their own 50-square-metre (540-square-foot) pool, while their parents relax on chaises longues in the shade nearby. A variety of pool toys and frozen treats is available at the toddler pool. Additional refreshing touches include complimentary fruit and water delivered to sunbathers three times daily and complimentary bottled-water spritzes.
• Four Seasons Golf Club Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo
  Set on the Papagayo Peninsula with cool, prevailing breezes, Four Seasons Golf Club Costa Rica boasts sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean on 14 of its 18 holes. This Arnold Palmer signature golf course has wide, undulating fairways with large and contoured greens, providing a fair and challenging test of your golf finesse.

• Tennis: For tennis enthusiasts, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica offers four courts with the Har-Tru clay-like surface. The tennis complex is located at the Bella Vista Clubhouse, a seven-minute ride from the Resort lobby. The tennis programme is managed by world-renowned Peter Burwash International. Professional instruction, equipment and tennis accessories are available.

• Artisan exhibit: Don't miss the chance to see the work of local craftspeople. Learn how they create masterpieces in wood and pottery.

• Classes: Dance (learn to Salsa or Merengue), Spanish for beginners, Cooking (Japanese sushi classes), Fitness (Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Latin aerobics), Beach meditation and relaxation, Cooking class.

• Hiking: Join us for an invigorating, high-impact nature or sunset hike through the trails around the Resort. The Resort also offers Walk Fit, a vigorous walk along the roads of the Papagayo Peninsula.

• Deep sea fishing: Guanacaste offers one of Costa Rica's premium fishing destinations – the Catalina Islands. The deep water to the south and west, off Flamingo and Tamarindo beaches, is home to blue, black and striped marlin, a multitude of sailfish and dorado (mahimahi).

• Scuba diving: There are many dive sites on the Guanacaste coastline, showcasing underwater life that is richly diverse in colour, species and natural volcanic rock formations. Marine life unique to this region abounds – divers will see massive schools of fish, rays, jacks, whale sharks, giant mantas, sea turtles, whitetip sharks, dolphins and more.

• Diving trips include local dives, night dives and dives to the Catalina Islands.

• Surfing: For surfing enthusiasts, the Resort is only 18.5 kilometres (10 nautical miles) from Witch's Rock, Petrero Grande, Ollie's Point and several other world famous spots routinely featured in surfing magazines. Arrangements can be made through local surf shops to transport guests to these locations by boat.

• Snorkelling exploration – Swim amongst schools of tropical fish in the warm Pacific waters right off Playa Virador or Playa Blanca.

• Kayak adventure – Explore some of the beautiful and secluded beaches of the peninsula, accessible only by water, or watch the sunset over the Pacific.

  Whether yours is just beginning, all grown-up or at any stage in-between, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica is a wonderful base for your family. We go out of our way to make our youngest guests feel welcome, and our resourceful Concierge is always close at hand – to make reservations for a family dinner, offer suggestions for tomorrow's outing or help arrange a babysitter. Children 18 years old and under can share their parents' room at no extra charge.

• Teen Center (ages 12-18): Tuanis Teen Center
  Tuanis – a Costa Rican expression meaning "too nice" or "too cool" – is our fully equipped entertainment facility created specifically for our teenage guests. Located just steps from the basketball court, Tuanis houses two flat-screen TVs, a DVD player, a PlayStation, an Xbox, computers with complimentary Internet and iPod docking stations. Furnished with comfortable lounge areas, decorative surfboards and bright Costa Rican colours, it is the perfect place to relax, play pool and socialise with new friends.

  The Center is also staffed with a teen-oriented Concierge, who provides information on weekly activities and tours. Outdoor adventure trips include zip-lining through lush treetops, volcano hikes and boogie board and surfing excursions. Weekly fitness classes, such as the hip hop yoga class, Latin cardio dance class and a high-intensity water workout, are designed specifically for the teen programme. Spa treatments and massage, manicure and pedicure packages are also offered, giving teens the full Four Seasons experience.

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica features four restaurants, In-Room DIning, and Romantic Dining.

Di Mare
Di Mare offers Italian specialties and exemplary service – and an ocean-view vantage point. Open for dinner, the restaurant serves superb fare that may be enjoyed indoors or on the fully screened outdoor terrace. Di Mare also features a luxuriously appointed private dining room with seating for up to 30. Open screened windows allow guests to hear the rolling surf as they dine on an elegant four- to eight-course dinner designed in consultation with our chef. The dinner menu changes daily and features the Executive Chef's finest creations. A variety of Italian and seafood dishes and an inspired selection of nutritionally balanced fare are offered on all menus. A children's menu is also available.

Papagayo
Continental cuisine and local specialties, beginning with an impressive breakfast buffet, are offered in the casual, all-day Papagayo restaurant. Open-air seating overlooks the daytime activity taking place around the Resort's pools. Guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner either indoors or on the adjoining patio. A variety of seafood dishes combined with local ingredients makes a balanced, nutritional and distinguished menu. A children's menu is also available.

Congo's
With convenient proximity to the main pools and two beaches, Congo's pool bar and grill offers local and American fare with delightfully casual al fresco dining. Food selections include sandwiches, salads and grilled local fish. A variety of vegetarian dishes and an inspired selection of nutritionally balanced, healthier fare are standard offerings on all menus. Congo's opens select evenings for dinner theme nights, including a Brazilian Churrascaria and Seafood Fair. Children's menu available.

Caracol
Located at the Four Seasons Golf Club, just a 10-minute drive from the Resort's lobby, Caracol is the perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Guests can relax on the terrace and take in Caracol's wonderful ocean views or watch the evening stars – or they can enjoy cocktails in the friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant. For lunch, the restaurant serves a selection of gourmet sandwiches, paninis, burgers, light salads, tempting snacks and the Chef’s daily specials. After 6:00 pm, Caracol transforms into a casual steakhouse. Prime cuts of meat, hearty appetisers and home-style desserts highlight the dinner menu. A children's menu is available for lunch and dinner.

In-Room Dining
Four Seasons In-Room Dining is a fine-dining experience within the comfort and convenience of your guest room or suite. Choose from an extensive menu, day or night – ideal for time-zone-hopping travellers, impromptu meetings or for quiet, private dining.

Romantic Dining
For the ultimate in romantic dining, the In-Room Dining staff can arrange a private dinner on the beach.

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica features 153 generously sized guest rooms and suites, which are imaginatively crafted with indigenous woods and stone finishes. Each room seamlessly blends indoor comfort with an outdoor furnished terrace or verandah to soak up the mesmerising views.

Sliding louvred doors between sleeping and living spaces maximise privacy and invite the flow of fresh sea breezes. Residential-style furnishings and décor draw their inspiration from the natural surroundings: ocean, forest, sunshine or beach. Well-defined work areas allow guests to remain productive, with up-to-the-minute technology for communication and entertainment, including high-speed Internet access throughout.

Extra-spacious bathrooms are cool, airy and inviting, clad in marble and offering signature Four Seasons features: deep soaking tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, large double vanity and – in a separate alcove – WC with telephone.

Gardenview Guest Room
1st floor, view landscaped tropical gardens and dry forest, one full marble bathroom, 1 king or 2 double beds. Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Deluxe Guest Room
2nd floor, views of lush tropical landscape, partial bay or ocean views; one full marble bathroom, 1 king or 2 double beds. Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Premium Guest Room
3rd or 4th floors, view of tropical dry forest and bay or ocean views; one full marble bathroom, 1 king or 2 double beds. Maximum Occupancy: 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Room Amenities
One king bed or two double beds, as well as a sofa in the balcony area. Room amenities include satellite TV and DVD player, private terrace or balcony. Only one rollaway per king bedded room is allowed. No rollaways allowed in double bedded rooms. Specific bedding and/or special requests are fulfilled based on availability and cannot always be guaranteed.
