The Tides Zihuatanejo is no hotel in the usual sense, mind you. It is a magical place. Although the hotel lies right on the fine white sands of Zihuatanejo's Playa La Ropa - by many accounts one of Mexico's most beautiful beaches - if you look towards it from the ocean you will hardly know it is there. As if by a miracle, The Tides Zihuatanejo disappears in the lush vegetation, and it seems that only if you squint real hard, you will see a few terracotta-tiled and thatched "palapa" roof tops peeking out of the green sea of rustling coconut palms.

Palma Real Golf Club
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, it´s considered one of the best in Mexico. Framed by beautiful palm trees, its 18 holes (6,898 yards) offer a big challenge.

Marina Ixtapa Golf Club
18 holes, 6, 781 yards, Marina Ixtapa Golf Club, is part of the modern complex Marina Ixtapa. The Golf Digest Magazine catalogues this as one of the best golf courses in Mexico.

The Tides Zihuatanejo features two restaurants:

The Restaurant at The Tides Zihuatanejo
Located next to the beach, the resort's main restaurant serves Mexican, French, and international cuisine. Guests to dine alfresco on the terrace, cooled by ocean breezes, or under a fan-cooled palapa. Several nights each week, the restaurant offers a specialty menu. Men are requested to wear collared shirts and long pants. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

La Cantina Bar & Grill
La Cantina serves Mediterranean and Mexican food under a thatched roof palapa, next to the open kitchen, or outdoors on an open-air deck. Sample fare includes traditional Mexican dishes, shrimp, grilled fish, and a variety of salads. The restaurant also serves lunch at private tables on the beach. This casual restaurant features decor inspired by a traditional Mexican cantina. Open for lunch and dinner.

Lunch is also served on the beach at your own private linen-set tables.

The hotel's chef will be happy to accommodate special dietary needs or requests.

The hotel’s 35 rooms and 35 suites are located in beautiful adobe-like villas amidst luxuriant tropical gardens. No two of them are alike – here some twisted tree trunks are holding up a little tile roof, there a private terrace is framed by the fringes of its palm-thatched roof.

Superior Guest Room
Single and split-level with a king size bed, sitting area, beautiful bathroom finished in indigenous marble, a private terrace or balcony overlooking lush tropical gardens. Each room has satellite TV, adjustable air conditioning, ceiling fans, minibar and an in-room safe. Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults.

 

Lagoon Suite
These spacious one-bedroom suites overlook the hotel's own lake and lush tropical gardens with a partial oceanview. Done in authentic Mexican textiles, prints and materials, these suites feature king bed, separate living room, large private patio with your very own minipool. Each suite has satellite television, air conditioning, ceiling fans, minibar and in-room safe. Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults.

 

Beach Suite
Each Beach Suite is uniquely and individually designed either in the warm hues of nature or vivid colors of tropics. The spacious private terrace with oceanview has an outdoor private "infinite-edge" mini-pool, comfortable double size chaise lounge and an extra large hammock. The oversized bathrooms are finished with indigenous marble. Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults.

 

Deluxe Suite
Spacious split-level suite with king sized canopied bed, sitting area, bathroom finished in indigenous marble, and balcony or terrace with hammock. Maximum Occupancy: 2 adults.

 

Room amenities
The rooms and suites are equipped with all the amenities that will make your stay as pleasant as possible: direct dial phones that let you stay in touch with the outside world, adjustable air conditioning and ceiling fans for a cool head, big fluffy towels for a fun day on the beach and deluxe soaps and shampoos. Comfortable bathrobes and hairdryers help you get ready for dinner in style. Satellite television will bring the world to you – only if you really want it – and an electronic safe will protect your passport and crown jewels. So, whenever you are ready, just remember to bring your passports, tourist cards and birth certificates, and we will supply the rest, including warm sand, a gorgeous sunset, a mariachi band and the Justice of the Peace. We will even volunteer to sign as your witnesses.
