The British Virgin
Islands (BVI) is a British overseas territory, located in the
Caribbean to the east of Puerto Rico. The islands make up part of
the Virgin Islands archipelago, the remaining islands constituting
the U.S. Virgin Islands. Technically the name of the Territory is
simply the "Virgin Islands", but in practice since 1917
they have been almost universally referred to as the "British
Virgin Islands" to distinguish the islands from the American
Territory. The British Virgin Islands consist of the main islands
of Tortola (largest island), Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van
Dyke, along with over fifty other smaller islands and cays. Approximately
fifteen of the islands are inhabited.

Peter Island
Resort's beaches:
Deadman's Bay, the most sensuous scene in the Caribbean
with its crescent-shaped, white sand beach and towering coconut
palms, embraces storied Dead Chest & Salt Islands pristine
places of pirate lore- in its mesmerizing expanse of brilliant
blue water.
Little
Deadman's Bay, an extension of its senior and a hot spot for
snorkeling, draws yachts of every size and locale.
Honeymoon, the resort's most intimate beach, offers only
two lounge chairs beneath a single thatch hut. Island tradition
dictates that lovers pay tribute to the beach at least once during
their stay-- one couple at a time, of course.
Big Reef Bay, lies across the hillside from Dead man's
Bay. Stretching three-quarters of a mile, its brilliant, shallow
reef is idyllic for beach combing and romantic sunset walks. The
resort's fitness trail also winds along the palm-lined beach.
White Bay is favored for its privacy and stunning views
of Norman and St. John Islands. Snorkeling here, where fish literally
eat out of extended hands, is the best on the island. Its secluded
shores also host the resort's exquisite picnic lunch.

Tradewinds
The resort's main dining option, veteran Chef Wilford "Willo"
Stoutt crafts choice Caribbean and Asian fare into fresh, fusion
cuisine matched only by the staggering view of Drake Channel and
neighboring Tortola through large, waterfront windows. Next to
the open-air dining area, a new wine room hosts private events
and specialty dinners, and the Trade winds pergola serves daily
al fresco lunch. At sunset, musicians serenade guests with calypso
or reggae. The resort features a new, seven-day rotating menu
each season.
Deadman's
Beach Bar & Grill
Camouflaged by sea grape trees, towering palms and a cedar shake
roof- offers a more casual menu for lunch and dinner just steps
from the most dramatic beach in the Caribbean. Reef Bay burgers,
coconut shrimp, and
a salad and desert buffet highlight the open-air enclave.
Drake's Channel Lounge
With its tiled "island" bar, mosaic map of the island
and shaded sitting area, offers a relaxed setting for sipping
the resort's signature drinks, the Peter Island Landscape and
Mango Smoothie.
White Bay Picnic Lunch
Guests "stranded" on the resort's most remote beach
favor its White Bay Picnic Lunch, a gourmet feast with fine linens,
china and flatware. Island staff deliver the basket directly to
the beach and then remove it when summoned.
Room service is available.
