Resort Vacations
Welcome to the Barbados!
Barbados, often
called the "Little England" of the Caribbean, blends
the finer elements of British tradition with warm island hospitality.
Barbados is one of the first democracies in the New World and
a regional leader in education and commerce.
Explore the many
beaches, rolling countryside, charming villages, old sugar mills
and plantations that represent the colonial past of the island.
Discover her sweet tropical air and British flair and you'll want
to return to this Caribbean beauty again and again. Barbados beckons
you with spectacular pink-white sand beaches and blue-green sea.
Coral reefs fringe the shoreline providing exciting snorkeling
and scuba diving.
Warm and friendly
Barbadian smiles will welcome you on this serene Caribbean island.
West Coast Beaches The
west coast of Barbados is often referred to as the "Platinum Coast"
and is renowned for the clear warm waters that lap gently onto golden
sands. These beaches feature calm azure waters of the Caribbean Sea
that are perfect for swimming and clean coral sands on which to relax
and soak up the brilliant Caribbean sunshine.
Beaches: Batts Rock
Beach, Brandons Beach, Brownes Beach, Colony Club Beach, Freshwater
Bay, Gibbes Beach, Heywoods Beach, Mahogany Bay, Mullins Beach, Needhams
Point, Paradise Beach, Paynes Bay Beach, Reeds Bay, Sandy Lane Beach,
and Six Men's Bay.
South Coast Beaches The
South Coast of Barbados is a curious mixture of the Caribbean Sea and
the Atlantic Ocean. This coast is more lively than the West Coast but
calmer than the East or North Coasts. The South coast offers something
for everyone - calm swimming, snorkeling over inshore reefs and tidal
pools, and at the southernmost tip of the island - windsurfing. You
can enjoy exciting water sports such as windsurfing and jet skiis or
discover sunken treasures underwater.
Beaches: Bottom Bay,
Crane Beach, Dover Beach, Foul Bay, Golden Sands Beach, Maxwell Beach,
Miami Beach, Needhams Point, Rockley Beach, Silver Sands Beach, St.
Lawrence Bay, Welches Beach, and Worthing Beach.
East
Coast Beaches
On the East Coast of Barbados, huge Atlantic waves crash along the shore
and these beaches are better suited for walking and sunning. However
there are a few good places to splash along this coast - as the waves
break over rocks and reefs, small pools are formed close to shore -
natural swimming pools!
Beaches: Bathsheba,
Cattlewash, Bath, Ragged Point, and Tent Bay.
North Coast Beaches The
northern coast of Barbados is known for its panoramic and breathtaking
views! Here you will find quiet, private coves and bays... areas of
respite from the huge waves that crash onto ragged cliffs - throwing
mist and foam into the air!
Beaches: River Bay,
Little Bay, Cove Bay, and Animal Flower Cave.
When the sun goes down
in Barbados, the fun continues! Barbados nightlife is extensive and
varied, providing entertainment for every taste, including historic
dinner shows, romantic cruises, exquisite dining, and nightclubs. Barbados
nightclubs (mainly located in St.Lawrence Gap and along Bay Street )
feature live entertainment most nights of the week. Most bands play
local music, calypso and reggae, but several R & B bands play top
international music with a Caribbean beat!
